Speak Story believes everybody can have a voice and the power of this, we see the need for education in creative business design, video production, writing, photography, multi-media, and well-being through story.

CREATIVE > Where the advertising agency, or content director would traditionally 'tell' the story of another, our process is limitless, we celebrate authenticity and empowerment.  Speak Story has evolved from initiatives spanning over 20 years, collaborating with diverse groups, partnering with oganisations and CREATIVE business to develop a series of holistic story CREATING workshops. Speak Story is a growing COMMUNITY to connect, mentor, educate for the future of community voice, individual evolution, creative business and the arts.

COMMUNITY >  is where stories live. We workshop with diverse urban, rural, and business communities to teach the art of making emotive story, accessible across multiple platforms. Our network of local and international digital story partners, community groups, business and creative media professionals collaborate and mentor.  We facilitate you to create your own meaningful story/ies that transpire, connect, & educate, providing profound experience.

EVOLVE > with all our workshops we guide through active listening, value tools and creativity. I have discovered the main thread is that our old stories hold us back, keeping us stuck. So we've designed a new arm of Speak Story that mentors, and guides individuals to grow, move and evolve. Its powerful, fun, and completely personalised.

Serena Stevenson
Founder

Serena has a professional career in documentary, advertising, film, and digital technology and a trained business and community facilitator. As a change agent and story creator, she is passionate about making a difference to the way we communicate with ourselves, each other and nature.
Then in 2003 her multimedia world expanded and her discovery for participatory photography was born. Her first multi media film hit the screens world wide, with National Geographic Channel, and Resfest digital film festival, thus opening a door of discovery, she has never looked back. Serena has spent the last 20 years researching, creating, and educating in the future of story for creatives, social enterprise, community and individuals.

"My projects have taken me on unimaginable journeys, into the cracks of real life. From indigenous communities fight for their identity, to isolated youth finding their way through the suppression of insurgent war.   With the question of the positive impact documentary has on subjects lives, I designed community workshop/s where the participant has the power to create and share their own story. Along this journey I experienced additionally, businesses need to create their own story content, video, photography and brand marketing, thus Speak Story was born". Awarded Cathay Pacific travel photographer of the year, NZIPP Photographer of the year, AVP Creative Entrepreneur Award, numerous Advertising awards for AIPA, Axis. Serena holds a Master In Design in participatory story telling and multi media technology. Screened in local and international film festivals, exhibited globally in galleries and Museums. And is a British Council Active Citizen facilitator.
